Theo một báo cáo mới đây, loại táo Fuji của Trung Quốc là rất độc. Lý do là nông dân đã dùng một loại túi nylon có tẩm hóa chất để bọc trái từ khi trái còn nhỏ cho đến khi thu hoạch.
Trong túi nylon này có hai loại hóa chất rất độc và nguy hiểm.
Chỉ riêng hai thành phố ở Shangdong đã sản xuất mỗi năm hơn 1 tỉ ký-lô, tức là hơn 1 triệu tấn táo.

Fuji apples from Yantai grow up in toxic plastic bags

A recent report revealed that Fuji apples from Yantai, Shangdong may be poisonous, because growers have been wrapping their apples up in plastic bags containing drug powders until they reach eating ripe stage.

Fuji apples from Yantai, known for their large and round appearance and sweet and crisp flesh, are sold nationwide.

Shangdong province’s Qixia and Zhaoyuan, as two main producing cities of this kind of apple, have a total annual output of over one billion kilograms sold to the market. However, a large amount of local apple growers in the areas have used these drug bags, in order to achieve better skin for their crops.

Regarding the drug powders used in the plastic bags, the bag producers and distributors have been kept them as industrial secrets. But local farmers and employees of the local Agricultural Cooperative Federation have admitted that “everyone knows they’re thiram and melarsoprol, prohibited to use.”

A farmer told the undercover reporter that the fruit is kept in the drug bags for more than five months until they ripen and enter the market. When applying the drug bags to apples, farmers have to wear masks and gloves, as the thiram and melarsoprol are dangerous and toxic.

These drug bags are produced in secret small workshops in towns. A machine operated by three persons can produce 150 thousand plastic bags a day. Each bag with the drug powders costs at five cents.

Besides, the plastic bags are marked with “apple bags only”. There is no word about medicinal drug and fungicide.
